Garden Notes
A small corner of the site for what grows, what doesn't, and what the garden keeps teaching me.
Why a Garden?
Gardening slows me down. It rewards patience, forgives a fresh start, and reminds me that growth happens quietly, season by season. Much of what I write about, including midlife changes, caregiving, and starting over, shows up in the soil first.
What's Growing Now
- Cloves: Struggling. The vine is growing but the leaves are disappearing
- Pineapples: Planted three years ago. Harvested some pineapples and the stalks are branching out so I'll have another crop in a year or two.
- Okras: Collecting last crop to dry and use seeds for new crop
Lessons from the Garden
- Not everything blooms on your timeline.
- Pruning is not failure. It makes room for what's next.
- Tend to the roots, and the rest follows.
